Paralympic Closing Ceremonies

It was with a little sadness but also lots of Canadian pride that I attended the closing ceremonies of the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.  The Paralympians had impressed me more, I think, than the able bodied Olympians.  Despite the odds they still competed and performed way better than I could ever hope to do.

Despite extremely wet weather the stadium and surrounding streets were full.  The Paralympic flag was ceremoniously passed to the Organizing Committee for Sochi 2014, and the Vancouver 2010 cauldron was extinguished.   Fireworks brought the proceedings to a close.  The parties of the last few weeks came to an end but I have certainly been affected by the Games and I’ll never forget the experience.

    Thanks Sarah!

I’d almost forgotten how much fun it was, and what it was like to be in the middle of it all.

Great shots. Must have been tricky to find the right settings to produce such clear, colourful photos!
