365 Project – Day 349

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

Another late night shoot but I really didn’t want to do a studio shot.  So I drove just down the road to my local cement factory!  It’s probably the most un-Whistler-like thing here (well, apart from the asphalt plant, I suppose!).  I think the stars add a little something to the shot.

365 Project – Day 348

Fall is well and truly here and today was one of those beautiful, golden days that I generally associate with fall in Whistler.  A refreshing change after the amount of rain we’ve had for the last few weeks.

More photographic shenanigans.  This time lens lust – this is my friends 300mm f2.8 Imaged Stabilized lens.  Worth thousands!  I want one!

Rain, rain, rain again, so I’m in the studio again.  This is a dual lens reflex camera – you look through one lens, the light goes to the film through the other.

365 Project – Day 345

Sunday, September 26th, 2010

Rob and I discovered that downtown Squamish is really nice. And so was lunch in the sun on the patio at the Howe Sound Brewery. We had left Whistler with ugly grey skies so were particularly surprised to be sitting outdoors in just our shirts.

Photo nerding on a dark, wet evening.  These are sparks off a back country matchless lighter – kind of a flint.

This September we are in line to set records for high rainfall.  Today was no exception.  I liked the way the railway tracks are clearly completely soaked.

365 Project – Day 342

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

Although I live in Whistler and was very much involved in the Olympics here, I had not been to Vancouver and seen their Olympic cauldron.  I was surprised to find that it isn’t just made of steel, but is clad in glass that makes it looks like it’s actually covered in ice.  Very cool.

Newborn shoot at 2 1/2 weeks old

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

This is little baby Tristan aged 2 1/2 weeks.  I was hoping for lots of slumbering shoots but he had other ideas and stayed awake for most of the three hour shoot.  I think I captured some nice shots anyway.  Congratulations to his parents!
