365 Project – Day 287

This was our first evening at Horning’s Hideout for the String Cheese Incident music festival.  The sun highlighting the dust seemed fitting for this magical place.

365 Project – Day 286

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

We spent the first night at Cape Disappointment State Park, on the Washington / Oregan border.  Has to be said that while it was a pretty place it really was a little disappointing as there was a constant and at times quite heavy drizzle which meant that my visions of a beautiful sunset were thwarted.

A Vancouver Island Wedding

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

I was fortunate enough to be the photographer for Kristina and Landon’s wedding.  Both from Edmonton their entire wedding guest list (100 people) also had to travel from Edmonton to Parksville on Vancouver Island.  With sunny, clear blue skies they (and I) were all treated to a very special weekend.

Kristina and Landon were lots of fun as you can see from the photos, and their non-traditional wedding on the beach was the perfect setting.  This is a selection of my favourite images, and you can also see their “storybook album” here.

This is fireweed down on the Valley Trail near Rainbow Park, but you can see it all over Whistler.  Rumour has it that when the last flower has died the first snow will follow soon.  Don’t know about that.  I just thought it was pretty!
