Bubbles.  What more to say?  Well…….more technical to shoot than you might imagine.  Requires a strobe with modeling light, dark room and a small aperture.  And a lovely assistant to blow bubbles over and over and over again!

365 Project – Day 246

Apparently out of nowhere and without being forecast a thunder storm happened over Whistler Mountain.  Quite dramatic lighting, lightening and then bucketfuls of rain!

365 Project – Day 245

This rosebud photo was taken with a macro lens.  I love the little water droplets.  Macro lenses are hard to use, though as the depth of field is so shallow.  Ideally you need a studio.  Oh well.  This is pretty anyway.

365 Project – Day 244

This is West Bowl on Whistler Mountain which I can see from my living room.  I love how the fluffy clouds are so dark because they’re in the shade of the mountain, but the mountain itself is still in the sun.

365 Project – Day 243

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

These are the Brandywine Falls, just South of Whistler, BC.  Legend has it that the name derives from a bet that the two men who discovered the falls had with each other.  Regarding the height of the falls (70 metres) one bet a bottle of wine, the other a bottle of brandy.

365 Project – Day 242

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

This tiny, tiny start of a bees nest was in the alcove of my patio.  A macro lens would have done it more justice, but two off camera flashes give it some depth and detail.

365 Project – Day 241

High up Stonebridge Drive on the West Side of the Whistler Valley there is a small lake.  I don’t know it’s name.  It seems to be man made as it is surrounded by dead trees as if the area has been flooded.  Made for some interesting reflections.
