365 Project – Day 124

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Day 124 for me was day 5 of the Olympics.  Again we spent the evening at Celebration Plaza where the RCMP Mounties found themselves to be the subject of everyone’s photographs.  I sneaked a silhouette shot from behind.

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

This is one of 100 McDonalds temporary staff at the Whistler Athlete’s Village – McDonalds is the official restaurant of the Olympics, which is as weird as Coca-Cola being the official drink.  Hey ho!

365 Project – Day 122 – Canada’s first Olympic Gold

Monday, February 15th, 2010

A big day for Canada with it’s first Olympic Gold medal on home territory.  Whistler Village was crazy busy and in a party mood.  There’s so much going on right now it’s hard to pick just one photo to show.  I thought the Olympic flavour Fire & Ice rings were cool, though.

More photos from day three here.

With the men’s downhill ski race postponed due to the weather some of the teams made use of the time training on Raven.  Most of these guys were running the Super G course, although one of them just straight lined the whole thing.  Bode Miller, currently part of the USA team was there flying team colours.

Local legends The Hairfarmers (Grateful Greg and Guitar Doug) play on stage before the Opening Ceremonies of the Vancouver2010 Olympic Winter Games.  This well know local “Princess Steph” gives them some Canadian lovin’ on a wet afternoon.

365 Project – Day 119

Friday, February 12th, 2010

This is the covered bridge over the Fitzsimmons Creek in Whistler.  I’m not sure if the new lights are due to the Olympics or not, but they look pretty cool anyway.
