Hockey Olympic Gold for Canadian men

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

With a nail biting, heart stopping final period where the USA even it up with just 22 seconds to go, the crowds finally get to celebrate:  Sydney Crosby scored the winning goal in overtime.  And oh how they celebrated!

Day 16 – at day at the sliding center

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Just when I was officially ‘over’ the games I was given a ticket to the final of the men’s 4-man bobsled.  Huge, huge crowds.  Lots of crazy fans and a bronze for the Canadian piloted by Lyndon Rush – just .01 second behind the Germans!

Rob and I had fun at the track and in the village afterwards:

365 Project – Day 135 – 4 Man bob-sled

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Ok, so I got sucked back into the Olympic excitement when I was given a ticket to the finals of the 4-man bob-sled.  I liked this girl as she had half her face painted with a Union Jack and the other half with a Maple Leaf – similar to my two temporary tatoos.

More photos of today’s fun.

365 Project – Day 135

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

This is day 15 of the Olympics and I’ll be honest, I’ll be glad when Whistler goes back to normal.  It’s been a phenomenal ride.  Lots of fun and excitement.  Lots of photo ops, but it’s wearing me out!

This shot is of me waxing my skis – not at all Olympic related, other than the fact that there are lots of skiing events.  Tomorrow I ski……….:)

Not even the tiniest bit Olympic - waxing my skis!

I was lucky enough to be invited to attend the women’s bobsled qualifying rounds today at the Whistler Sliding Center.  Lots of fun and the Canadians are doing well.  This is Germany 2

Fire and Ice Dance

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Unbelievable performance from the Fire and Ice twirlers and dancers during the Fire and Ice show in Whistler.  Ramped up for the Olympic Winter Games you can’t help but get caught up in the performance.
