I was back in my usual role today for Elizabeth and Ollies’s wedding. There was a little time left before the ceremony and Ollie waits anxiously.

It was the weirdest thing – I went to a wedding as a guest only. These cookies were made by the bride.

I’ve been to quite a few weddings especially since I started shooting at them. Maybe I’m biased as these are good friends of mine, but it really was one of the nicest weddings I’ve been to. The Whistler Golf Course is a great location and luckily the impending rain clouds stayed away. Meg is known for throwing a good party and this certainly was a good one. Their choreographed first dance to Queen’s “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” really kicked off the dancing, and the Hairfarmers kept the crowd going all night.

A Vancouver Island Wedding

I was fortunate enough to be the photographer for Kristina and Landon’s wedding. Both from Edmonton their entire wedding guest list (100 people) also had to travel from Edmonton to Parksville on Vancouver Island. With sunny, clear blue skies they (and I) were all treated to a very special weekend.

Kristina and Landon were lots of fun as you can see from the photos, and their non-traditional wedding on the beach was the perfect setting. This is a selection of my favourite images, and you can also see their “storybook album” here.

Meg and Shane got married out at “The Knowle” at the Whistler Golf Course. This was taken on their ride back to the Clubhouse for the best party!

This weekend I went to Parksville on Vancouver Island to shoot the wedding of Kristina and Landon. They were all great fun but I did manage to calm Kristina down for this portrait.

Nina & Jamie May 15th 2010

Nina and Jamie were married in the Catholic Sacred Heart Cathedral in Kamloops. It was a beautiful ceremony with some of the wedding guests singing solos. One one of the hottest May 15ths that Kamloops has ever seen the coolness of the Cathedral was welcome. The reception followed at the South Thompson Inn and Conference Center where a breeze from the river was also very refreshing.

This was the first dance for Nina and Jamie, a lovely couple now living in Vancouver but who grew up in the Kamloops area. Their ceremony was at the very lovely Sacred Heart Cathedral, followed by a reception at the South Thompson Inn.

Rachel & Martin – January 8th 2010 – Fairmont Chateau Whistler

Rachel and Martin were perhaps the most fun couple I have met yet – largely because Martin was such a joker. Over from the UK for the ceremony they had just a small wedding party as some of the friends and family couldn’t make it.

The Fairmont is such a beautiful location for a wedding – from the chapel on the roof, through the ballroom corridors, lounges and wine room. The gardens are great too, particularly in summer.

Karen & Doug – October 16th 2009

Karen and Doug were a lovely couple. Super relaxed and laid back. They decided to get married on their 10th anniversary together – at the Pan Pacific in Whistler. It was a wet fall day but Karen’s choice of flowers brought out the sun. I wish them both well.
