It was still two weeks or so until Moira’s due date and both her and Alex being of small build her belly didn’t look that big. So we did what we could for a variety of shots. For some reason, I just preferred the black and white ones.
As it turned out, little daughter Esmae was actually born just 5 days later!
With increased web presence professionals need good looking head-shots for the myriad of social media sites that they need to be on. I have a mobile studio lighting kit so that I can take the shot at your location. I have black or white backgrounds:
This family have portraits done in Whistler every year, but this was the first time that all 11 of them had been together for some time. I suggested Rebagliatti Park as there is lots of variety there. They were fun to work with.
Here in Switzerland one of the local ski schools – Neige Aventure – asked me to take photos of their students from the Basel International Ski School.

This will be Mike and Hilary’s first baby. Max, the dog, seems quite proud to be part of the process!
Karin & Dusan’s baby is due in four days time so there was no time to spare. I took my lighting and backdrop kit to their place for the shoot. We had fun. Good luck on Monday (or later) Karin!
Today I was struck by the mood of this man, sitting on one of the many benches on Whistler’s busy Village Stroll. There were smiling crowds all around him but he just sat. Maybe he was tired, maybe he was meditating. Either way, he certainly didn’t look like the normal tourist.
Not your usual tourist!
This year I am taking part in a team race in Whistler, the famous “Peak to Valley” race: up to 180 GS gates over a 5.6km distance. This is my team mate Richard getting ready to race. I’m racing on Saturday.

Musician and drama teacher Hilary Wight needed some new headshots. A mix of backgrounds, studio mono head strobe with selective use of a gold reflector changed the shots quite considerably. And we had fun too!
Somewhat shocking to realize that my room mate bears a remarkable resemblance to the 2010 winter Olympic Games mascot Quatchi!
