About me

BIO

Born in the UK, I grew up with a camera in my hands:  through my teenage years I progressed from a 110 with non-reusable flash attachments to a 35mm ‘point and shoot’ when they were first introduced, until I bought my first SLR, an “advanced” Canon A1 at the age of 19.  I still have it!

Traveling around the world, taking photographs along the way, I settled in Canada in 2000.  I now live in Whistler, BC, and there’s always something to take photographs of:  from the tiniest of flowers or snowflakes to mountains and numerous fun sports.  In 2006 my passion for photography led me to work as a professional portrait photographer and ultimately to shoot weddings.

PASSION

Photography has become a way of life for me and I am rarely without my camera.  You’ll see from my blog that I am constantly shooting.  Constant shooting leads to constant improvement.  I love still life, pets and scenics but working with people is what I find most rewarding.  From documentation of live music, studio work and sports action to weddings and portraits.  The challenge and variety is what keeps me passionate about photography.

PERSONALITY

Every shoot, particularly a wedding shoot, is different and needs a different approach.  A lot of the time the success of the wedding photography correlates to how well the photographer gets on with the bride and groom.  Experience has taught me that some brides know exactly what they want, while others need my guidance and experience.  The best way to get a feel for how you might get on with me is through conversation – so call me or e-mail me and I’ll call you.
